From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. Motivation is the activation or energization of goal-orientated behavior. Motivation is said to be intrinsic or extrinsic. The term is generally used for humans but, theoretically, it can also be used to describe the causes for animal behavior as well. This article refers to human motivation. According to various theories, motivation may be rooted in the basic need to minimize physical pain and maximize pleasure, or it may include specific needs such as eating and resting, or a desired object, hobby, goal, state of being, ideal, or it may be attributed to less-apparent reasons such as altruism, selfishness, morality, or avoiding mortality. I'm in the same boat...I just make sure that I spend 15 minutes doing something to improve my house...ie..start a load of laundry before I leave for work...put in dryer upon return home from work while cooking dinner and then after dinner after the dishes are done...take that load from the dryer and you're done!!! I personally like to fold right out of the dryer thus no HUGE piles of folding waiting for me. Above all get the kids to help...easier said than done I know..but every little hand helps. Q. When ever we get together we tend not to worry about our college schoolwork but this week he really needs to get to get stuff done. He asked if after each piece of homework if I could give him some motivation (you know...) to keep him going.
